The source recalled the strengthening of Roskachestvo's control over carbonated drinks, sausages and semi-finished products, which will be checked for the content of trans fats, sweeteners and hidden sugars.

Many regional manufacturers have now already stopped shipments before the certificates are updated. Import suppliers also have difficulties, which must quickly adapt to the updated state standards, otherwise they face serious fines (from 300 thousand rubles or more).

Plus, the tax system is also changing in the country. The preferential VAT rate of 10% is no longer valid for manufacturers of spreads and oil-containing products with fat substitutes. Similarly, with canned food (including condensed milk), as well as with freeze-dried food.
