American producer and head of Studio Mao film company Steven Mao spoke about how US President Donald Trump reacted to the gift of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. We are talking about a hockey puck sent as a present from Moscow to Washington. Details are provided by TASS.
According to the source, the gift was given to the owner of the White House by the chairman of the Commission on Fine Arts of the USA, Rodney Mims Cook Jr., who arrived at SPIEF-2026 as part of a delegation. It happened a week after Cook Jr.'s trip to St. Petersburg.
"The president was extremely amused and appreciated this gesture. After that, as you probably saw in the media reports, Presidents Trump and Putin talked on the phone for more than an hour and a half, discussing bilateral contacts and the negotiation process," Mao said.
In a conversation with a TASS correspondent, a producer from the United States also called the future meeting between Putin and Trump an event that could bring real positive results. In general, he adheres to the strategy of "cautious optimism" on this issue.
EADaily previously also informed that in Russia's Vladimir Zelensky was called the Parsley of Western countries.
