Ex-President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili wrote a furious post on the social network from prison, scolding both the Georgian authorities, the opposition, and the people.
"The stopwatch of Georgia's existence or non—existence is turned on, and against the background of the silence of the people and politicians, the country is rapidly moving towards a fatal ending," the prisoner believes.
So Saakashvili commented on the reaction to the statement of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze that the August 2008 war was unleashed by a foreign agent of Saakashvili.
According to the ex-president, today part of the Georgian opposition remains silent, while the other has either sold out to the authorities or is afraid.
"The opposition, with rare exceptions, is not active, because cases have been initiated against them and they are afraid of going to prison, or they have sold out, or they think that, defending Georgia, they are pouring water on my mill, or they are just lying on the beach or resting abroad and have not found time to say at least something" Saakashvili laments.
As for the people, according to the prisoner, some "really believe Russian propaganda, some are just outright traitors, but still the majority have fallen into apathy and are waiting for the outcome of the war in Ukraine, as if with the victory of Ukraine, victory will be presented to us right on a platter, and Ivanishvili will evaporate by himself."
And the founder of the Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili, writes Saakashvili, on behalf of Moscow, is preparing "official recognition of the surrender of the territories of Georgia," "and the silent reaction of society convinced him that there would be no one to raise his voice."
