Director, People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Bortko has completed the filming of his new project "Stalin". This is reported by the telegram channel "Kinopoisk/News."
The main role in the film about the last years of Joseph Stalin's life was played by Igor Mirkurbanov. Alexander Yatsko, Viktor Sukhorukov, Daria Moroz and other artists also took part in the film.
So far, the exact release date of the film has not been disclosed.
<url> portal clarifies that the shooting took place in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kaluga, Leningrad region and the Black Sea coast. Several shooting shifts this summer also took place at the Moskino Film Park.
"Our film is built around the personality of Stalin. Yes, we have an emphasis on the fact that the people around him stopped understanding him and wanted more. But the film is not about them, it is primarily about Stalin. The film has been waiting a long time. Now the times have changed, the attitude towards Stalin in the country has changed — therefore, in my opinion, it has become possible to remove this scenario. I am very grateful to the people who decided to do this, who took the risk to invest their efforts. The shooting went well, it's a normal job for me," said Bortko, thanking the entire project team.
As reported by EADaily, earlier Bortko said that the main goal during the filming of the picture was to debunk "the myth of Comrade Stalin, which has been forming for a long time, since the twentieth Congress of the CPSU."
The director also stressed that he was not going to show Stalin "good or bad," only "as I think he really was."
