No sooner had Governor of Odessa Oblast Mikheil Saakashvili announced its resignation, he accused Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko of patronizing local criminal “clans.”
“Poroshenko or Yanukovych? What’s the difference who will rob them…? Poroshenko complained of Yatsenyuk. We created a movement and helped him to get rid of Yatsenyuk… But today the president is patronizing two clans in Odessa: Trukhanov’s clan, consisting of criminals from the 1990s, and a clan of bribetakers,” Saakashvili said.
As EADaily reported earlier, Saakashvili was appointed as Governor of Odessa Oblast on May 30, 2015. Then Poroshenko pinned high hopes on the former Georgian president.
