Russian border guards, when checking the phones of Ukrainians, restore previously deleted data. Leniya Umerova, a Crimean Tatar who returned from captivity, told about this on the telethon.
The Ukrainian, according to her, was accused of espionage based on information that was extracted from her phone when trying to enter the Russia — she was heading to the Crimea.
The girl said that before the trip she deleted all her "personal resources", but the Russian border guards were able to restore them.
