The Russian Federation has submitted to the United States a list of its own requirements for a truce on Ukraine, which the parties have already discussed behind closed doors.
As Reuters reports, the exact items from this list are still unknown. There is also no answer to the question of whether Moscow will negotiate with Kiev before the demands are accepted.
According to the sources of the publication, Russian and American officials have discussed these conditions during personal and virtual conversations over the past three weeks. They concern not only Ukraine, but also the reset of relations with the United States.
Nevertheless, Reuters concluded that the Kremlin's proposals on Ukraine are large-scale and reflect the same position that Russian officials have repeatedly voiced.
Recall that Moscow has repeatedly demanded Kiev's rejection of plans to join NATO, the non-deployment of foreign military personnel on Ukrainian territory, as well as the official recognition of Crimea and four new regions as Russian.
As reported by EADaily, Russia has repeatedly stressed that sustainable peace is possible only if final agreements are reached, and not temporary truces used by Kiev to regroup and receive Western assistance.
