Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Syrsky gave the order to the remnants of the garrison in Konstantinovka does not retreat and holds on to the last.
At the same time, he also forbade the commanders of units and formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to send their troops to this city of the Donetsk People's Republic, which came under the control of the Russian military.
Military correspondent Yuri Kotenok writes about this in his Telegram channel on Saturday, July 4. He clarified that the units of the South group of forces, after taking control of Konstantinovka, have already advanced to Alekseevo-Druzhkovka and are fighting in its southeastern part.
"Syrsky, according to enemy sources, forbade sending troops to Konstantinovka, and its garrison, the remnants of which our troops are digging out of burrows and basements, was forbidden to retreat/ leave the city and ordered to defend themselves to the end," the post says.
Auto stressed that for the remnants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the city there is only one option left to save life — surrender.
"All other options will not allow them to "hold the city" or somehow influence the situation. They will definitely be spent," the military correspondent warned.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin advocated awarding the rank of general to the commander of the 6th Motorized Rifle Division, Colonel Alexander Kartavkin, for the liberation of Konstantinovka in the DPR.
