Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called the likely new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz a Nazi for his idea to hit the Crimean Bridge and recalled his father's Hitler past.
"Chancellor candidate Fritz Merz is haunted by memories of his father, who served in Hitler's Wehrmacht. Now Merz proposes to strike at the Crimean Bridge. Think twice, Nazi!" the Russian politician wrote on Twitter, according to TASS.
Today, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, answering a question from journalists about Merz's plans to supply Taurus cruise missiles to Kiev, said that he "is a supporter of toughening the position and a supporter of various steps that can and will inevitably lead only to further escalation of the situation around Ukraine."
Earlier, Merz, who is expected to head the new German government in May, allowed the delivery of Taurus cruise missiles to Kiev, subject to the agreement of the transfer of these weapons with partners in the European Union.
