Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko believes that Russia should take a tough stance at the talks in Istanbul.
"We will be pressured from different sides. And we actually have no room for maneuver at the negotiating table — we have it before the start of negotiations. And in negotiations, we can simply take the position of Gromyko [the USSR Foreign Minister], whom the Americans called "Mr. No." We will have to say: here is our proposal — this is already a compromise," Ishchenko said on Sputnik radio.
EADaily reported that on May 15, the head of the presidential office Andrei Ermak, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and presidential adviser Igor Zhovkva will go to Turkey for talks with the Russian Federation together with Zelensky. The Russian delegation will be headed by Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky.
