At least two people died and 15 were injured as a result of a powerful explosion in the city of Zhytomyr in northwestern Ukraine. Residents of the region are advised to stay in their homes and close the windows.
Zhytomyr Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention urges residents to close windows, minimize their stay on the street, and drink more water.
The head of the regional military administration Vitaly Bunechko said that at the moment it is known about two dead. Another 15 people were injured.
As EADaily reported, explosions and a strong fire occurred at an infrastructure facility on the highway near Zhytomyr. The fire spread to neighboring residential buildings. Local telegram channels, citing eyewitnesses, reported that a warehouse with ammunition was allegedly located nearby. The Zhytomyr-Kiev highway is completely blocked.
