The founder of the organization Slava Ukraini in Estonia stole donations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine — ERR

The Estonian Prosecutor's office has accused the founder of the charity organization Slava Ukraini Johanna-Maria Lehtme of stealing donations collected for Ukraine. Her accomplice was the former deputy mayor of Lviv Gennady Vaskiv. This is reported by ERR.

It is noted that Johanna-Maria Lehtme created Slava Ukraini in Estonia shortly after the start of the Russian special operation. The organization collected donations from Estonians and foreign donors for the purchase of humanitarian aid. According to the investigation, since August 2022, Lehtme has signed contracts with the Ukrainian company IC Construction for the supply of uniforms and equipment at inflated prices, the difference settled on the accounts of intermediaries. The amount of damage under these contracts amounted to 413 thousand euros, and in total — more than 450 thousand euros.

Part of the funds, as established by the investigation, went into the pocket of Ukrainian Gennady Vaskiv, director of IC Construction and head of the All for Victory Foundation, who was deputy mayor of Lviv before the war. In 2024, Vaskiv was accused of stealing humanitarian aid, but by the time suspicion was presented, he had already fled Ukraine.

Lehtme refused to testify, writes ERR. The prosecutor's office claims that the money allegedly collected to help Ukraine was used as a source of personal gain.
