US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the Independence Day of Ukraine published on the official website of the State Department the text of congratulations. In it, a politician from the United States recalled the importance of the negotiation process.
"We believe in a negotiated settlement that preserves Ukraine's sovereignty and guarantees its long—term security, which will lead to lasting peace," Rubio wrote.
The Secretary of State also assured Kiev of continuing Washington's strategy of building partnerships in the field of economy and security. Earlier, a long-time ally of Moscow congratulated Ukraine on the same holiday.
