The US State Department has approved the possible supply of spare parts for the Patriot system to Ukraine for almost $ 180 million and satellite communications services for $ 150 million. This was announced on August 30 by the Pentagon's Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).
"The State Department has decided to approve the possible sale of Patriot anti—aircraft defense system and related equipment to the Government of Ukraine abroad in the amount of $ 179.1 million," the press release said.
It is specified that the sale will improve Ukraine's ability to withstand current and future threats by further equipping it to conduct self-defense missions.
Also, the Government of Ukraine has requested the purchase of satellite communications expansion services for its Starlink terminals.
"The Government of Ukraine has requested the purchase of an extension of satellite communications services for its Starlink terminals. ...The total estimated value of the transaction is $ 150 million," the DSCA noted.
