Ankara condemns the Israeli strikes in Qatar and expresses support for Doha, calling on the international community to put pressure on the Zionist regime. This is stated in the statement of the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
"We condemn the Israeli attack on the Hamas delegation in the Qatari capital Doha. The attack on the Hamas delegation during the truce talks shows that Israel is not seeking to achieve peace, but to continue the war.… As a result of this attack, the list of countries that Israel has targeted in the region has also been added Qatar, acting as a mediator in the truce negotiations. This is a clear proof of Israel's expansionist policy in the region and that it has adopted terrorism as a State policy. We support Qatar in connection with this despicable attack directed against its sovereignty and security. We once again call on the international community to exert pressure on Israel to stop its aggression in Palestine and the region," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
As EADaily reported, the Israel Defense Forces launched a rocket attack on an object in the capital of Qatar, where, according to Israeli media, Hamas leaders who arrived for talks were staying. At the time of the attack, 15 Israeli Air Force aircraft were circling over Doha, Qatari air defenses and aviation did not interfere with the attack on the negotiators. Several people were injured in the impact.
