A demonstrative change in the rhetoric of US President Donald Trump on Ukraine may not have political consequences and turn out to be a banal attempt to scare Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
This is reported by Politico, commenting on Trump's pro-Ukrainian statements, which came as a complete surprise to everyone. The thesis that Ukraine can return territories by military means and even "go further" seems especially strange.
"Trump's post may be nothing more than an attempt to provoke Putin, which will not lead to any real changes in US policy," the article says.
The publication notes that the same opinion is shared by the majority of officials and diplomats of the European Union, who are already accustomed to abrupt changes in Trump's position, which are sometimes diametrically opposed.
In Europe, it is believed that the rhetoric of the American leader on the Ukrainian conflict may change dramatically again, as a source from the entourage of French President Emmanuel Macron told the agency on condition of anonymity.
"Fortunately, but also unfortunately for us, what Trump says on Monday is different from what he said on Tuesday," the source complained.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, was surprised by the call of the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, to return the "occupied" territories.
