The organizers of the No Kings protests told RIA Novosti that almost 7 million people in the United States demonstrated against the policies of President Donald Trump.
"Almost 7 million Americans gathered today for one of the largest one—day nationwide demonstrations in the history of the United States... in more than 2,700 cities and towns," the No Kings Organization said.
At the moment, the US authorities have not published official data on the number of protests in the country.
Thus, 2 million more people came out to protest on Saturday than in the first wave of these demonstrations on June 14, the organizers noted.
At the same time, one of the organizers of the demonstration in downtown Chicago, the NGO Indivisible Chicago Alliance, told RIA Novosti that up to 250 thousand people came out to protest in their city.
On Saturday, protests under the slogan No Kings are taking place in all American states, as well as in Washington, which have become the second mass wave of demonstrations. The first No Kings rallies, held on June 14, fell on the day of the military parade and the 79th anniversary of the president.
On Friday, Trump said in an interview with Fox News, commenting on the upcoming protests against his policies, that he is not a king.
