In the Saratov region, on the eve of a night attack by drones, a strong blizzard began with gusts of north-west and north wind up to 25-27 meters per second. Roads were swept, power lines, buildings were damaged, heating was not available in some houses, trees were felled. Today, on December 14, the governor of the region Roman Busargin announced the damage from the rampant elements.

In his Telegram channel, Busargin informed that wind gusts had damaged power lines in 205 settlements in the region.

"As a result of strong gusts of wind and falling trees, power lines in 205 settlements were damaged. Elimination of accidents continues around the clock. 59 brigades are working," he said.

According to him, the roofs of 14 buildings, including schools, hospitals, private and apartment buildings, were damaged. 132 trees were felled in Saratov, they were promptly removed.

"In addition, there is damage to 33 sections of gas pipes and 78 power lines. In terms of addresses, the resource supply has already been restored," Busargin said.

The main restoration work at the facilities is planned to be completed by the end of the day, the head of the region said.

Rescuers evacuated 148 people from snow-covered trails in Saratov region — among them 34 children, writes the telegram channel Readovka.

"Almost 150 people were evacuated from two tracks near Saratov, which were covered with snow — including 34 children. Drivers complain about freezing children in the salons of cars. Many cars have run out of gasoline, while traffic on the roads is completely paralyzed due to a large number of accidents. Rescuers do not have time to get to the congestion, people themselves have to pull other victims out of the snow captivity, " the report says.

The situation is no better in the city itself, where a large number of residential communications and buildings have been damaged, Readovka points out. Local residents report a broken roof of the local railway college and kindergarten after a storm wind. Pipes have broken in many houses, heating and electricity are partially absent.

Municipal services of the city have been transferred to the round-the-clock mode, and additional heavy equipment has been sent to the routes where restrictions have been imposed, the governor of the region said.

EADaily adds: on the night of December 13, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Saratov region with drones, the target of the attack was the Rosneft oil refinery. During the raid, one of the drones hit a residential high-rise building, killing two people.

"As a result of the UAV attack, several apartments in a residential building were damaged. All emergency services involved in the elimination of consequences are working on the spot. Two people were killed," Governor Busargin wrote in a telegram channel.

According to the head of the region, "civil infrastructure facilities" were also damaged in Saratov and glazing in a kindergarten and a polyclinic was damaged. Local residents told the Shot telegram channel about more than 20 explosions in Saratov and neighboring Engels, where the oil depot is located. According to eyewitnesses, the Saratov refinery came under attack. The Saratov refinery fell under the blows of the Ukrainian Armed Forces six times in the autumn alone, and this attack was the ninth since the beginning of the year.
