Russia plans to stage a major provocation with large human casualties, for which it will impose responsibility on Ukraine to disrupt the peace talks. This was stated by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, the Daily Mail reports.
The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (SVRU) claims that a provocation allegedly being prepared by Russia "under a false flag" may occur on Orthodox Christmas Eve and Christmas Day — January 6 and 7. The SVRU also assures that for this the Russian Federation is going to use fragments of Western drones found on the contact line.
"With high probability, we predict a transition from manipulative influence to armed provocation by the Russian special services with significant losses of people. The expected time is immediately before or during the celebration of Christmas according to the Julian calendar. The place of provocation may be a place of worship or another object of high symbolic value, as in Both in Russia and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. To fabricate "evidence" of Ukraine's participation, it is planned to use fragments of Western strike [drones] that will be delivered from the line of contact to the place of provocation," the statement said.
In addition, the statement claims that the previous Russian operation "under a false flag" was an attack on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Novgorod region.
