The treacherous attack by Israel and the United States on Iran is unacceptable. This was announced today, March 4, by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Minsk Alireza Sanei.
"Mr. Ambassador, I want you to understand that our meeting today is not symbolic. We are fully informed about what is happening in the Middle East, including in friendly Iran. You know that Belarus has always adhered and adheres to peace. Wars are unacceptable for us simply genetically, because Belarus, being in the epicenter of all wars, has learned the essence of these wars well. We have lost millions-millions of people in all the wars that have existed in our region. And basically the world wars rolled to the east and back through our Belarus ... Therefore, the treacherous attack of Israel with the support of the United States on Iran is understandable and unacceptable to us," he said.
Lukashenko recalled that as a result of the attack, "innocent residents, and above all children, were killed."
"Iran's spiritual leader Ali Khamenei has died. You know that I had a good relationship with him. I think we met three times with him, discussed world problems. This is a humanist, this is not a military man, aimed at protecting his people and his state. Therefore, for me it is absolutely unacceptable what happened to him, to his family and, even worse, to his wife, who died of wounds," the Belarusian leader said.
Alexander Lukashenko once again conveyed condolences in connection with the death in Iranian civilians, children and Ali Khamenei.
"Everything I have said is clear and visible to the entire world community. But I am alarmed by the fact that the Gulf states can get involved in this war and become participants in this wild war. I'm afraid that's what will happen. Therefore, the world community, and first of all large states, and above all Israel and the United States, should realize that this conflict can result in unpredictable events," Lukashenko stressed.
The President expressed his desire to discuss with the ambassador the situation in the Middle East, in Iran.
"And to ask you one question: how can we help you in this situation based on the position we have taken on this conflict? The Foreign Ministry said this quite transparently. This is the position of the leadership of Belarus and the Belarusian people," he added.
Recall, on February 28, Israel and the United States attacked Iran. In response, Tehran began shelling Israeli territory and American military bases in the region. Belarus condemned the events and called on the parties to de-escalate tensions.
