The United States may begin escorting ships of the US Navy through the Strait of Hormuz within one or two weeks. This was announced on March 6 by the head of the US Treasury, Scott Bessent.
"I think it's a matter of one or two weeks. I don't know for sure, but we are on the way to solving this problem," the minister said on Fox Business channel.
Bessent also added that Washington will rely on data and recommendations from the Pentagon on the issue of escorting ships.
