The National Prosecutor's Office of Poland may bring charges against the former Prime Minister of the Republic Mateusz Morawiecki in the case of abuse in The Government Agency for Strategic Reserves (RARS), which participated in providing assistance to Ukraine. This is reported by the Polish media.
It is reported that the indictment of Morawiecki was taken under control by the head of the office of the Prosecutor's Office in Katowice, which is investigating the case of abuse in RARS. In addition, it became known that new testimony in the case was given by the main defendant — the owner of the Red is Bad company, Pavel Sh., with whom RARS signed a number of contracts, including for the supply of electric generators to Ukraine.
It is noted that the prosecutor's office seeks to prove that Pavel Sh., as well as the ex-head of RARS, Michal Kuchmerovsky, acted with the knowledge of Moravetsky. At the same time, it is emphasized that so far the ex-prime minister has not been involved in this case even as a witness.
Recall that in June 2024, the Polish prosecutor's office launched an investigation into fraud in RARS, including the purchase of generators at an inflated price for Ukraine. During the investigation, the prosecutor's office charged five persons, including Pavel Sh. and Kuchmerovsky. The businessman is under arrest, and Kuchmerovsky fled to London, but was detained in 2024, and is now awaiting a decision on extradition to Poland.
