Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, sharply criticized the European members of the Security Council. He said that the Russian side was embarrassed and ashamed of them.

The reason for this was that Western representatives during their speeches did not bother to mention the death of children as a result of the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Starobilsk.

The Russian diplomat noted that such a position goes beyond the usual hypocrisy. His words are quoted by the press service of the permanent mission to the international organization.

"Frankly speaking, I am embarrassed and ashamed for some colleagues on the Security Council. We knew that we would hear something similar from the European members of the Security Council, but today their level of cynicism is off the scale. None of them even bothered to mention the dead children in Starobilsk. This is not even hypocrisy or double standards, but outright mockery of child victims," Nebenzia said.

During the open discussion at the meeting He called on his UN Security Council colleagues to be more responsible in discussing topics related to the death of children.

The Permanent Representative also pointed out that the night strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the student dormitory in Starobilsk was a deliberate war crime, since the attack was committed on a facility where children study and live.

It is emphasized that the Ukrainian military attacked him at night when the hostel was full. This gesture is clearly made with the aim of maximizing the number of victims.

As EADaily reported, on the night of Friday, May 22, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a targeted drone strike on the territory of the Starobilsk College of Lugansk Pedagogical University. As a result, the building of the dormitory collapsed, where 86 students from 14 to 18 years old were at that time.

Initially, it was reported that 35 people were injured of varying severity, but some people remained under the rubble. According to the latest data, six people were killed.
