The Russian leadership has not received any proposals for the resumption of the Black Sea initiative, known as the grain deal. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov following his participation in ASEAN events in the Philippines.
"The answer to the question about the Black Sea initiative is short: there were no proposals," the minister told reporters.
In this regard, he recalled the "not very plausible role" played by the UN in the Black Sea initiative.
"The experience of this initiative of Secretary-General [UN Antonio] Guterres shows that it was one-sided. And the principles that were agreed upon for its implementation were carried out solely in the interests of the Ukrainian side. And the UN members here played a not very plausible role. So this [the resumption of the initiative] was not discussed at all," the Russian Foreign Minister said, quoted by TASS.
