The Mariinsky artist was detained after shooting at an 11-year-old street saxophonist

In St. Petersburg, a 38-year-old man shot an 11-year-old boy who was playing a saxophone on the street. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

The shooting incident occurred on the afternoon of May 24 at house 1 on Minsky Lane. The man who lived nearby did not like the performance of the boy, and he shot out of the window of his apartment with an air gun. The young musician received a laceration of the cheek. The injured student, a 4th grade student, was hospitalized. According to Fontanka, the bullet was removed by the doctors of the Rauhfus hospital.

The shooter was later detained. In a video posted by the Wolf, he explained that the child was disturbing sleep with his saxophone playing. He claims that there was only one shot.

"There was no malicious intent. I just wanted to scare the person just, well... he was never there and suddenly appeared. Something like that...", the detainee explained confusedly.

He admitted his guilt in what he had done.

Since the shooting occurred not far from Mariinsky Theatre, first aid was provided by the staff of the institution.

"The Mariinsky Theatre is concerned about what happened and is monitoring the fate of the victim. The competent authorities are currently investigating the incident," the theater stressed.

A criminal case on hooliganism with the use of weapons has been opened on this fact.

"Fontanka" found out that the shooter is an artist of the Mariinsky Theater. The man hails from Kazakhstan and, according to information from the theater's website, is listed in the troupe in the category "Mimance" (mimic ensemble). A Makarov MP-654k pneumatic gas cylinder pistol was seized from him.
