The UN was on the verge of bankruptcy because of the United States and China. It is reported by The Wall Street Journal.

According to the publication, the United Nations faced the threat of "financial collapse" and bankruptcy due to the refusal of the United States and China to pay contributions for reasons of disagreement with the work of the international structure. These countries account for about 42% of its basic budget.

"Washington has not paid billions of dollars owed to an international body and has withdrawn from dozens of its programs and agencies, including the World Health Organization, in order to combat what President (US Donald) Trump calls wasteful spending and bad policy. The United States now owes the UN more than $ 4 billion, and China still owes about $ 455 million, despite Beijing's recent transfer of $ 850 million,"the publication says.

It is noted that with the current budget trajectory, the organization will exhaust its funds by mid-August.

As reported by EADaily, Russia's permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia criticized the reaction of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to the attack of the Kiev regime troops on the college in Starobilsk.
