The situation related to Alexander Fedin, who was engaged in the creation of a man-made forest in Surkhandarya region and faced difficulties that made it impossible for him to continue this project, attracted the attention of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, as well as local authorities. This is reported by podrobno.uz .

Fedin was provided with the necessary medical care, and he was discharged from a specialized medical institution. Currently, the issues of providing him with decent living conditions and possible employment in the structure of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change are being actively discussed.

A separate project is related to the forest area that he created. It is planned to transform this territory into an open ecological park and transfer it under the management of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change. In the future, an Arboretum park named after Fedin will be created here, where unique natural resources will be preserved and developed.

The whole point is as follows. As it became known from social networks, in 1989, 30-year-old Alexander Fedin, a resident of the Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan, conceived the idea of creating a real forest. The state provided him with 4 hectares of land of little use for agriculture near the Aktepa reservoir in the Dzharkurgan district.

When he mastered this site, the local authorities allocated another 84 hectares. Fedin had followers and comrades, together with whom, in adverse climatic conditions, they created a man-made southern forest on a total area of 101 hectares. So there was a large hunting and fishing industry.

How did Fedin come up with this idea, which has become a life's work? In 1986, his family and all relatives moved to Russia, in the Tambov region. But he, who had been speaking the Kungrad dialect of the Uzbek language since childhood, returned. Born in neighboring Tajikistan and having lived all his life in the hot and arid south of Uzbekistan, Alexander was amazed by the Russian forests. He decided to return home and smash the same forest.

In 2023, the Committee on Ecology noted his asceticism with the badge "Defender of Nature". In 2025, the President of Uzbekistan honored him with a state award - the Order of Dustlik (Friendship).

But in October of the same year he was fired. The forest was handed over to the military. They gave the territory to a 20-year sublease to a private trader who installed a barrier at the entrance. Entrance fee: 250,000 soums. And Fedin ended up in the Surkhandarya branch of the Republican Center for Mental Health. Last week, writer Foz Farhad visited him.

Excommunicated from the cause of his whole life, from his brainchild, he lost the meaning of life. He has no clinical illness, and doctors are ready to discharge him, but he has nowhere to go. All his life he lived in a hunting lodge in his forest.
