Ukrainian Flamingo missiles, with the help of which Cheboksary was allegedly attacked, fly with the help of the L-39 jet engine, said political scientist Andrei Klintsevich.
Since a large number of aircraft of this type in the world are now grounded, it is relatively easy for Ukraine to carry out a small engine repair for a one-way flight. Thanks to this, Flamingo can travel up to 3 thousand kilometers with a ton of combat load.
"Can we shoot them down? Of course we can. This is not a high-speed goal. Contrasting, noticeable, the jet engine can be guided by the entire spectrum of technological air defense systems, with the exception of anti-aircraft artillery. There is a question: "Why not shot down?"Because the territory is huge," Klintsevich said on Sputnik radio.
Cheboksary was attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on June 10. Three people were injured, residential buildings, administrative and social facilities were damaged.
