Theater and film actor, People's Artist of Russia Sergey Bezrukov, accompanied by the Moscow Jazz Orchestra conducted by saxophonist, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Igor Butman, improvised poems by Konstantin Simonov "Wait for Me" and Robert Rozhdestvensky "Post-War Song" at the closing of the Moscow Jazz Festival. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

At the end of the evening, the audience did not want to let the artists leave the stage, then a small improvisation was presented.

"We are with Igor has known each other for a thousand years, but today we finally performed together. Jazz is improvisation. If so, Igor, can you? Oleg, will you pick it up? "Yaroslavna's Lament" sounded today, now there will be a man's answer — the famous poem by Konstantin Simonov, which I love very much. It seems to me that it is very suitable for today's topic," Bezrukov promised.

He presented a heartfelt interpretation of Simonov's poem "Waiting for Me", which was written in the summer of 1941. Butman on saxophone, as well as Oleg Akkuratov on piano, Nikolai Zatolochny on double bass and Eduard Zizak on drums created the musical accompaniment of the reading.

"We continue to improvise!", — said Bezrukov, having finished reading the poem. Then he read the lines from Robert Rozhdestvensky's poem "Post-War Song".

The hall thanked the artists with standing ovations in gratitude for the wonderful finale of the concert.

Moscow Jazz Festival was held this year from June 8 to 14. The project is implemented with the support of the Moscow Department of Culture and Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
