Scandalous secular journalist Bozhena Rynska, who left for Latvia, spoke about the circumstances of the awakening of her own Jewish identity. This was discussed during a conversation with the Sheinkin40 YouTube channel.

"I am half Jewish, and after October 7 (the Hamas attack on Israel in 2023), somehow this identity woke up for me," she said.

In this regard, she visited the synagogue in Jurmala, not being a believer, but a "rigid agnostic."

"But I came to their events as support, so that there would be support," Rynska said.

According to her, there are a lot of Jewish organizations in Latvia that hold a lot of events.

Rynska also explained that her father was a 100% "parochial Jew", 13 people from this family died in the Holocaust.

"According to my grandmother, according to my father's mother, everyone was mowed down there," Rynska stated.

As reported by EADaily, last summer Rynska admitted that, returning to Moscow, she feels an acute sense of loss.

"From the first steps in Moscow, I am haunted by an acute sense of loss: my favorite streets, cafes, friends… I know everything here. Every corner," she said.

Rynska stressed that she is "still a Muscovite, still Russian, but not anymore," stuck between worlds.
