Belarus stands for mutual respect and openness to cooperation with Slovenia. This is stated in Alexander Lukashenko's congratulation to the people of this country on the national holiday — Statehood Day.
"The date of June 25 for Slovenes has become a symbol of an important historical choice, striving for an independent path, asserting their place in the world and embodies a careful attitude to the rich cultural heritage, spiritual roots, native language," the message of greetings reads.
According to Lukashenko, "Belarus and Slovenia is united by the proximity of approaches to sustainable socio-economic development, the desire to preserve national traditions and identity."
"Based on the experience of previous years, Minsk strives to be optimistic about the future of Belarusian-Slovenian relations and always advocates mutual respect and openness to cooperation in the economy, culture, sports and other spheres," the Belarusian leader noted.
The President of Belarus also wished the people of Slovenia peace, harmony and stability.
Slovenia is a NATO and EU country. In this regard, it fully follows in line with Western policy towards Belarus and Russia. In particular, Slovenia has imposed national sanctions against Minsk and adheres to pan-European restrictions.
