The head of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in the Samara region of Russia, Shirvan Kerimov, was deprived of Russian citizenship, the Azerbaijani APA news agency reports.

It is noted that Kerimov is currently in Azerbaijan, about the annulment of citizenship The RF was informed to him when he was already in the republic.

Russian officials have not yet commented on this information.

Earlier, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes sentenced eight Russian citizens detained in Azerbaijan in June last year, they received from three to four years in prison. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan detained Russian IT specialists and tourists last summer.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stressed that during the announced visit of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, the Russian side will raise the issue of the early release of 11 Russian citizens who were detained in Baku last summer.
