The former head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Mikhail Fedorov, admitted that the resignation of Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko (and with her the entire Ukrainian Cabinet) was only a cover for his dismissal.

This assumption was made by the disgraced minister to the publication Ukrainska Pravda. He noted that the true reason for his dismissal from the post of head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is not a conflict with the ex—commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky.

According to Fedorov, in fact, his resignation was the result of his ongoing procurement reform and tenders in the military department. After it began, pressure increased around the Ministry of Defense, and they began to "sow negativity" in the media space.

"We have started to restructure the processes in the field of procurement and tenders. This caused great discontent among many people," the ex-minister said.

He also said that he had not put forward any ultimatums and left the post together with the government. According to him, later he was offered several job options, but he refused to take up a decorative position because he intends to adhere to his own vision of future activities.

Fedorov admitted that he could return to the chair of the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to him, "the doors are not closed yet," and there has not yet been a final conversation with the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky.

Earlier, EADaily reported that one of the main reasons for Mikhail Fedorov's dismissal from the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine was the plans of FirePoint, a company close to Zelensky's entourage, to master 80% of the defense budget.
