Western observers from Militare Watch Magazine commented on the sea trials of the newest Russian nuclear submarine Khabarovsk. The publication believes that this event marks a qualitatively new stage in the system of strategic nuclear deterrence.
The key feature of Khabarovsk is the ability to carry up to six Poseidon autonomous nuclear torpedoes, which implement a fundamentally different concept of charge delivery that is not related to intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Thus, it is possible to attack objects from unpredictable directions. MWM clarifies that Khabarovsk expands Russia's nuclear arsenal and increases the flexibility of retaliatory maneuvers.
EADaily previously also informed that the carrier of the Russian Doomsday weapon went to sea.
