The European Union should not enter into a dialogue with Russia. This was stated in an article for the Economist by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.

"Europe should resist the temptation to enter into premature negotiations. Those who call for the resumption of political dialogue may hope that discussions will eventually reduce tensions. In the long run, the opposite is true," he wrote.

According to him, wait for "the weakening of Russia's strategic position."

Recall, against the background of failures on Ukraine and serious problems in the EU economy, a number of community countries have increasingly begun to talk about the need for dialogue with Russia. At the same time, Moscow supports the resumption of contacts, but emphasizes that the current position of the EU is counterproductive.
