In July, fish shipments from Turkey to Russia grew 1.9 times in annual terms. This was announced today, August 31, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the data of the Turkish state service.
In terms of fish and seafood sales, Turkey took first place in the Russian market in July. Russia received $ 58.1 million worth of fish, which was the highest since October 2025. In annual terms, the figure increased by 35%. The largest share is occupied by frozen fish — $ 39.7 million, followed by fresh and chilled fish — $ 18.2 million, as well as fillets and fish meat — 194.4 thousand.
Italy ($26.3 million), the Netherlands ($25.1 million), Greece ($22.9 million) and Britain ($18.5 million) are also among the top five fish suppliers.
As EADaily reported, in June, the Rosselkhoznadzor suspended the supply of all fish from Armenia. Against the background of talks by the Armenian authorities about their intention to join the EU and other unfriendly statements, supplies to Russia of flowers, vegetables and fruits.
