The President of Estonia called the timing of a possible "attack" by Russia

Russia is unlikely to decide to attack Estonia in the near future, but the situation may change in the future. This was stated by the country's President Alar Karis.

According to Karis, Russia is now "in a weak position," so he does not see an immediate threat of attack in the near future. At the same time, he believes that it is impossible to predict Moscow's behavior for many years to come.

At the same time, the Estonian President drew attention to the prospect of the next 5, 10 or 15 years. Karis believes that circumstances may change over such a period of time, so the country should prepare in advance, and not wait for the appearance of an immediate threat.

"Anything can happen, but we must be prepared for any eventuality. And this readiness is extremely important. We have done a lot in this direction: we have a well—trained military reserve, as well as the defense union," he said.

According to him, one of the weaknesses is the training of the civilian population. There are not enough shelters and other "necessary things" in the country, the head of state said. In this regard, he noted. that in this direction Estonia could learn from Ukraine.

Recall that Russia has repeatedly stated that the country is not going to attack anyone. Moreover, Western intelligence and a significant part of EU politicians are talking about this. However, a wave of Russophobia continues to spread in Europe, designed to justify a sharp increase in military spending on the continent. As Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said earlier, there is no direct military danger from Russia for the Baltic and Northern European countries now, but European countries should still spend more money on defense.
