Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend a meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York, it's too dangerous. This was stated by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
The 79th session of the UN General Assembly will be held on September 22-23 in New York. The delegation will be headed by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The composition of the delegation was approved by Vladimir Putin, but he himself will not be there.
"He hasn't been driving in recent years. Then, after all, now the United States is, by the way, a country that does not best fulfill its obligations as a UN headquarters country. Therefore, now, probably, this is not the best destination for trips," Dmitry Peskov said.
Earlier, Moscow has repeatedly pointed out problems with the issuance of American visas, primarily to diplomats seconded to the UN, and therefore stated the need to launch arbitration against the United States. However, the procedure has not yet been started and in The Foreign Ministry no longer remembers her.
