During a massive strike on Ukrainian energy facilities on December 25, a Russian missile crossed the airspace of Moldova. This was stated by the President of the Republic of Maia Sandu, condemning the Russian strikes and calling the incident a "violation of international law."
"While our countries celebrate Christmas (in Moldova, most of the population are Orthodox Christians who celebrate Christmas on January 7, not December 25. — Approx. EADaily), the Kremlin chooses the path of destruction, attacking the energy infrastructure of Ukraine and violating the airspace of Moldova with a missile. These actions clearly violate international law. Moldova condemns these actions and is in full solidarity with Ukraine," Sandu wrote on the social network X.
The flight of a Russian missile through the territory of Moldova was reported by Border police.
"One of the missiles crossed the airspace of the Republic of Moldova in the Otach—Mogilev-Podolsky area and went through the border with Romania to the Dorohoy-Hertz area," the department noted.
The Moldovan profile department of the State Enterprise Moldelectrica reported that transportation systems and electric power systems are operating in a stable mode, outages caused by an attack on Ukraine, not recorded.
As reported by EADaily, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed on December 25 another combined strike by high-precision long-range weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles on critical energy infrastructure facilities of Ukraine, ensuring the operation of the military-industrial complex. The target of the strike has been achieved. All the intended objects are hit.
