Negotiations of the Presidents The Russian Federation and the United States of Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict will be a kick in the ass for Europe, which should finally wake up and start making independent decisions. This was stated by Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Palutskas, the ELTA news agency reports.
"In fact, the situation is difficult, because the unilateral efforts of the United States to try to resolve the issue (Ukrainian. — Ed.) with Russia and partly with China directly leave Europe on the sidelines. On the other hand, we need to ask ourselves the question: didn't we deserve it, let's be honest, not being able to make decisions — not only firm political ones, but also vital ones about defense financing?" — said a Palutskas, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Palutskas noted that he would regard Trump's actions "as a good kick in the ass for Europe."
"I hope that Europe will wake up and eventually hear the demand, repeatedly expressed by our region, that we should take our problems more seriously and then hope for help from the United States. And now trying to ride on someone else's back, apparently, is also not very moral," he stressed.
