The US authorities have begun preparing a new package of anti-Russian sanctions to increase pressure on Moscow during the negotiation process on the peaceful settlement of the conflict on Ukraine.
This is reported by Reuters, citing an informed source in the White House. He specified that the new restrictions will affect banking and energy companies of the Russian Federation, including Gazprom.
"US officials have completed the development of new economic sanctions against Russia, including measures in the banking and energy sectors, to increase pressure on Moscow and force it to support the efforts of US President Donald Trump to end the conflict in Ukraine. Ukraine," the article says.
At the same time, the interlocutor of the publication expressed doubt that the American president himself would approve a new anti-Russian sanctions package. It is claimed that Trump has not yet made a final decision.
