Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), called the results of the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul. He wrote about this in his account on the social network X.
Dmitriev also briefly listed the results of the meeting of the delegations of Russia and Ukraine.
"Good results of the first dialogue between Russia and Ukraine in three years: the largest prisoner exchange, ceasefire options that can work, understanding of positions and ongoing dialogue," Dmitriev wrote.
He noted that the meeting would not have taken place without the efforts of US President Donald Trump and his team.
May 16 in Negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations took place in Istanbul. It was the first meeting of negotiators in three years — the last face-to-face meeting of representatives of the two countries was held in March 2022.
According to the head of the Russian negotiating group, assistant to the President of Russia Vladimir Medinsky, Moscow is "generally satisfied" with the outcome of the meeting and "is ready to continue contacts." The head of the Russian delegation, commenting on the issue of the truce, noted that "as Napoleon said, the war and negotiations are conducted simultaneously." During the meeting, the parties agreed to conduct the largest prisoner exchange under the "1000 to 1000" formula.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, also admitted that negotiations could continue. According to him, the next step should be to organize a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky.
