Polish President Karol Nawrocki does not plan to go to Ukraine, where Vladimir Zelensky invited him, the meeting is being prepared in Warsaw, said the head of the International Policy Bureau of the Office of the President of Poland Marcin Przydacz.
Earlier, Zelensky said that he had invited Navrotsky to visit Ukraine. Unlike his predecessor Andrzej Duda, the current Polish president has never visited Kiev.
"We are glad that relations with Poland are important for the President of Ukraine. Good neighborly relations with Ukraine based on mutual respect are also important for us. We are working on the date of the meeting of the presidents in Warsaw through open and active diplomatic contacts," Przydacz wrote on platform X.
Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, discussing a possible meeting between Navrotsky and Zelensky, said that the latter "would not have dropped the crown from his head" if he had asked for a meeting with the Polish leader.
Prior to that, Navrotsky said that Poland expects gratitude from Ukraine for military assistance.
