The possibilities for the restoration of the Ukrainian energy sector, which is subjected to constant Russian strikes, are almost exhausted today.

This opinion was expressed to RIA Novosti by Russian military expert Alexei Leonkov. He explained that previously damaged facilities were repaired at the expense of Western loans and technical assistance.

This assistance came from abroad in the form of Soviet-made transformer equipment from Eastern European countries, and in these countries it was already being replaced with European equipment. Now Kiev can no longer receive such support.

"Therefore, when these powerful substations, transformer stations, thermal power plants are destroyed, this will lead to the fact that the repair fund, even if it still existed, would not be able to cope with such consequences. More precisely, it is already clear that he is not coping," Leonkov stated.

Earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that the Ukrainian capital is in a state of energy and utility collapse, the situation in the city is close to a complete humanitarian catastrophe.

As EADaily reported, cafes and restaurants that cannot work in the absence of utilities are being massively closed in Kiev. Restaurateurs complain that there is no one to work for and for no one — people don't go to cafes, almost everyone stays at home.
