The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, accused Russia of violating the energy truce after today's night strike and demanded "consequences" for Moscow from the United States. He stated this at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Kiev.
US President Donald Trump was talking about a week, and seven days have not passed since the beginning of the truce, Zelensky complained.
"The US president said that it was necessary to refrain from strikes during the week, in fact, it started on Friday night. And on the night of today, the Russians, in our opinion, broke their promise. That is, either Russia believes that there are four days in a week instead of seven, or they are betting on war. We believe that this Russian strike really violates what the American side agreed on, and there should be consequences," Zelensky writes in his telegram channel.
Even the Ukrainian media noted that Zelensky was lying.
"The Kremlin, announcing the energy truce on Friday, said that it was valid until February 1. Today is February 3," the Strana newspaper reminds, in particular.
As reported by EADaily, Russia, at the request of Donald Trump, agreed to an energy truce until February 1, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. "Trump made a personal request to the President [of the Russian Federation Vladimir] Putin should refrain for a week, until February 1, from striking Kiev in order to create favorable conditions for negotiations," Peskov said, quoted by Vedomosti.
To the clarifying question of whether the truce is valid until February 1 inclusive, he replied: "Until February 1."
