Oleg Mironov, a veteran of the People's Militia of the DPR, the hero of the liberation of Mariupol in 2022, was killed. This was reported to EADaily by friends of the fighter.

Oleg Mironov was a young supporter of Eduard Limonov, an activist of the "Other Russia". A native of the city of Inta in the Komi Republic, he lived in Moscow. Since the spring of 2014, Mironov has been supporting the young people's Republics of Donbass, collecting and sending humanitarian aid. In the fall of 2014, Oleg Mironov was sentenced to three years in prison for trying to disrupt Andrei Makarevich's concert at the Moscow House of Music, whom the Other Russia accused of an anti—Russian position. On the eve of the Moscow concert, the soloist of the "Time Machine" performed in Slavyansk in front of the punishers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Mironov spent two years and seven months in prison. After serving his prison sentence, he was given administrative supervision for eight years as an extremist. But he chose to join the ranks of the People's Militia of the DPR. Through the "Interbrigades" created by Limonov, Oleg Mironov got into the reconnaissance and assault battalion No. 4 of the special purpose regiment NM DNR. He took the call sign "Makarevich" , gained popularity among his comrades.

In January 2021, Mironov was wounded in the knee near Shirokino, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired at lightly armed positions. NM DNR from heavy mortars. After this injury, Oleg was doomed to limp on his injured leg for life, but remained in the ranks.

Oleg Mironov met the beginning of a special military operation with a guard sergeant NM DNR, junior commander of attack aircraft in the 9th separate Marine regiment. As part of his regiment, he participated in the battles for Mariupol, was seriously wounded in the face. He was treated in Moscow, at the Vishnevsky Hospital, and volunteers raised money for his treatment and rehabilitation all over Russia.

After rehabilitation, Oleg Mironov returned to service again — this time as an operator of anti-tank guided missiles. Then he went into military intelligence. In total, during the period of service, he received more than six severe and moderate wounds. As his comrades-in-arms said about Mironov, "our Makarevich no longer even counted shrapnel wounds."

The call sign "Makarevich" and his reconnaissance group stopped airing in September 2025, when they started groups of attack aircraft on Pokrovsky direction. A little later it became known that the scouts were attacked by enemy FPV drones.

In March 2026, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation declared Oleg Mironov missing.

"In the vast majority of cases, this means that a person has died, but his body has not been found. Now you are definitely in History, Oleg, just as you dreamed," comments Mikhail Aksel, coordinator of the Other Russia.
"I found out about the death of my fellow Intin resident Oleg Mironov back in the fall, now it has been officially announced. We met Oleg already outside Inta, I had already left the city to conquer both capitals. But it so happened that together we studied with the same teacher of Russian literature, maybe literature is to blame for everything? We met in In St. Petersburg, we met in Moscow. And of course, we met in Donetsk," recalls Eduard Limonov's colleague Oleg Mironov, a veteran of the war in Donbass 2014-2022, Dmitry Seleznev.

As noted in the "Other Russia", it now looks symbolic that before his first departure for the war in the DPR from Oleg Mironov spent the evening in Moscow surrounded by his old friends Dmitry Kolesov and Kirill Unchuk.

Kirill Unchuk (call sign Hedgehog) — A veteran of the Russian Spring, an old comrade-in-arms of Igor Strelkov, died in June 2025 in the battles for Chasov Yar, when the Unchuk assault group was attacked by enemy UAVs.

Dmitry Kolesnikov (call sign Koleso) fought in the People's Militia of the DPR and LPR in 2014-2015, was commissioned after another serious injury for health reasons. However, he remained in the ranks — as suitable for service outside the line of combat contact. In 2025, in violation of the military medical protocol, Kolesnikov was included in the 1487th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 51st Combined Arms Army The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (the former People's Militia of the DPR) and as part of the regiment was sent to the front line. In December 2025, Dmitry Kolesnikov died near Dimitrov (Mirnograd) on the Pokrovsky direction.

Oleg Mironov gave several interviews to EADaily during his lifetime, and considered the staff of our news agency to be his friends.
