Guided missiles "Threat" and S-8L, characterized by cheapness in production, called for use against long-range drones launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Details are provided by the Telegram channel "Military Chronicle".
The missiles were designed by Russian engineers on the basis of unguided projectiles.
Experts called both projects similar to the American APKWS II kit (Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System II), which turns unguided shells of caliber 70 millimeters into quite a guided weapon. The states are already using APKWS II to combat enemy drones.
"There are two similar projects in the "bins" of the Russian military-industrial complex. The first is a "Threat" from the STC JSC "AMETECH", which was started back in the 1990s," the source writes.
EADaily previously also informed that Ukraine "licked" the Russian "Lightning-2".
