Ukraine imposes sanctions against two sons of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko for a period of 10 years. This is stated in the decree of Vladimir Zelensky, published on April 29.
"Now I have already signed a new sanctions package for Ukraine — a weighty package — including in relation to entities from Belarus. This is a signal to many of our partners that they should put pressure on in order to reduce the level of this war, its intensity," Zelensky said.
According to the decree, sanctions are imposed against Viktor and Dmitry Lukashenko. Restrictions were also imposed against the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus Pavel Muraveyko, as well as the former head of the Presidential Administration Viktor Sheiman. Now there are 16 citizens of Belarus on the Ukrainian sanctions list.
In addition, 11 legal entities were included in the sanctions list. Among them are the Minsk plant "Thermoplast", the Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No. 407, the Vitebsk Plant of Electrical measuring instruments and the Borisov Plant of Plastic products. 16 types of restrictive measures have been applied to those on the sanctions list. Including the blocking of assets, the suspension of economic and financial obligations, the cancellation of official visits, the termination of trade operations, as well as the indefinite deprivation of state awards of Ukraine. The term of restrictions is 10 years.
Recall that Kiev broke off all relations with Minsk after February 24, 2022. Earlier, Zelensky had already imposed sanctions against Belarusian citizens and companies, as well as Lukashenko personally.
