Alexander Gavrilov, General Director of the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant (Krasmash), was detained in Krasnoyarsk. This is the largest enterprise of the Russian military-industrial complex producing a silo-based strategic missile system with a heavy multi-stage liquid intercontinental ballistic missile RS-28 "Sarmat".

Gavrilov has been at the head of Krasmash since 2018. His detention was reported by the local NGS24 website, citing a source. According to RIA Novosti, Gavrilov "was taken into custody at the end of April in a case of embezzlement," he "is in the Krasnoyarsk pre-trial detention center."

Citing sources, Ivan Petrov, a deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council, also reported on Gavrilov's detention. He clarified that the investigators had been working at the plant for two weeks, and the reason for the criminal case against the CEO was a bribe of 3 million rubles.

The Investigative Committee of the region does not have information for comment, RBC points out.

Gavrilov planned to participate in the elections to the Legislative Assembly of the region in September. He went to the primaries of United Russia from the Lenin regional group.
