On the background of the SPIEF: at the Kronstadt marine plant, two hits in the corvette "Boyky"

Today, during a massive raid by Ukrainian drones on the regions of Russia, the main target of which was St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the enemy struck at least two strikes on the Baltic Fleet corvette "Boiki" at the Kronstadt Naval Shipyard. All this is happening against the backdrop of the opening of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The telegram channel "Rybar" writes about this.

In the morning, the authorities announced the defeat of infrastructure facilities in Kronstadt, Kirovsky and Krasnoselsky districts of St. Petersburg. Dozens of photos and videos taken during the long-term attack appeared on the Network: both with strikes on specific objects on the territory of the St. Petersburg oil terminal, and with UAV flights over the southwestern districts of the capital of the region.

"In Kronstadt, according to the objective control footage published by the enemy, the target was the Boyky corvette, which was in dry dock on the territory of the Kronstadt Marine Plant," Rybar notes, adding that, as in previous raids on Ust—Luga, Kronstadt and Primorsk, before entering the airspace of the Gulf of Finland, the drones went along the border over Peipsi and Pskov Lake, which made it difficult to counteract.

As the Z-blogger notes, judging by the video, at least two hits were recorded in the corvette "Lively".

"The ship was in dry dock for repairs. This is despite the fact that the ship itself is new. And the Ukrainian formations caught him there. They have already done this in a similar way during the attacks on Sevastopol several years ago," the author of the TC points out.

He draws attention to the fact that hitting the "Brisk" again exposes the problem in countering the UAV.

"The current measures are not quite effective: the percentage of reflection seems to remain high, but no-no arrivals appear in different parts of the country. Moreover, this is not the first raid on the ships of the Baltic Fleet," adds Rybar.

"Why was the corvette in such a position without protection? — a question with an asterisk. The fleet is extremely vulnerable to Ukrainian raids, and there are no measures about which one could say "this will definitely help." The chains stretched on the surface combat units of the Navy for this, I'm sorry, but they don't really pull," the military correspondent expresses his opinion.

As for communication, the Starlink satellite terminal was most likely used. The scheme has already been worked out: one of the relay UAVs goes through the Baltic States to the international waters of the Gulf of Finland and transmits a signal to the shock UAVs, the Z-blogger believes.

"It is possible to fight this only by saturating the air defense. In conditions of a shortage of missile defense systems, more maneuverable groups are needed, calculations with interceptor drones are needed, which will function not only on paper (there are problems with this in the Leningrad Region), but also in practice," he expresses his opinion.

In this regard, he touched upon the issue of the erroneous opinion that someday the enemy will run out of drones or missiles.

"The scale of production is growing, new capacities were introduced only in March, which was reflected in the increase in the number of attacks in April and May, so there will only be more raids," Rybar states.

As EADaily reported, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the interception of 354 UAVs over 16 regions and the Sea of Azov, 59 of them were shot down in the Leningrad region.
